I call this blanket “The Family Blanket” I grew up with a blanket very similar, it came everywhere with us, so it felt almost like another family member. I wonder sometimes if it was because of this blanket I became a weaver. Of course I was the one in the family to inherit it and I eventually decided to replicate it and have it as part of my collection. Now other members of the family can have it, so nieces and nephews I have often given them as wedding and housewarming presents. It was originally from Connemara on the West Coast of Ireland, the colours and textures, echo the rugged shore line along the Atlantic coast.
